I greeted you with a smile, all excited I was.
" Look at my new skin ", I told you.
You looked at me, with thoose droopy eyes,
then you walked away, with the faintest of smiles.

Stared hopelessly at your back. Is that you?

My once-bestfriend. Playmate, cycling buddy.
As you started talking, your voice started cracking.
Then, tears started rolling down.
I didn't, rather I couldn't see them.
But I could feel your pain, just this once.

I've made a mistake, I failed to see who you truly are deep down.
I'm sorry, to know what you're going through now.

I really am.

I looked up at you, as I lay close.
And I saw them, sadness in your eyes.
You looked away, somewhere far away.
Tears, they rolled off my cheeks.
How could I not know?'

I watched as you stood still.
You seemed lost.
Lost in your own thoughts.
Afraid, I was.
I held your hand, please know that I'm here.
We'll go through this together.
I need you, we all do.

Dear Allah, please help us stay strong.
